I purchased my new 2025 GMC Terrain on 4/5/25. Immediately I started having issues with it. The drivers side blind spot detection would intermittently go on when nothing was there, usually on a 2 lane road or street, and I noticed vibration in the steering wheel at highway speeds. I have brought it in twice for these issues. The first time no one from service called me to tell me what they found. The receptionist called me to tell me my car was ready and to pick up my keys at the front desk. When I got there I asked her what they had found. She didn't know and brought me to service where one person was still there who looked up my records. They couldn't recreate the issue. The tech drove it 4 miles and put it on the hoist to see if anything was blocking the sensor. I drove off and there was still vibration in the steering wheel and my drivers side blind spot detection was still randomly going off for no reason. My cousin's husband is a shop foreman for a garage in the Twin Cities. He's been an ASC certified master technician for coming up 30 years. I talked to him about it and he said it's most probable that in transport there was chord shift in the tire(s) that caused the wheels to go out of balance which would cause the drifting (it drifts to the left if you let go of the steering wheel) and vibration in the steering. I called up Kolar, said I was still having issues and the tires may be out of balance. They sent me the service estimate email and put me on the schedule 3 weeks out. Clearly the gal didn't realize this was warranty work. The following weekend I was driving 2 hours to my uncle's when the blind spot detection went off for about 30 miles then intermittently after that even if I was driving in the left lane. The vibration was still there. That weekend I got an email from the Kolar service manager, Kerry Mudrak, to contact him if anything went wrong prior to filling out this survey...so I did. He called me on Tuesday. He moved up my service appointment to 4/24/25. Once my car was done the service advisor, Paul, called me and again couldn't recreate the issue but there was a software update. I asked him if the balance on the tires was checked. He tells me if the tires were out of balance it could be causing these issues and lead to uneven wear. Ok....but was it checked??? No answer. I got off the phone feeling gaslit. I picked up my car on 4/25 after it was rustproofed. As soon as I pulled out of the dealership I could tell the vibration was still there. That weekend I drove approx 150 miles, after 100 of those the blind spot detection started going off again while driving on an empty country 2 lane road. Monday 4/28 I went in person to Kolar and spoke with Kerry and described my experiences. He looked through my records and mentioned it had thrown some codes. He put in a GM Technician ticket and I left. I finally felt heard. When I got home I sent him an email thanking him for meeting with me and requested the service records to see what had been checked and the results on my car. My cousin-in-law wanted to see them. No reply. On 5/5 I called him and left a voicemail about the status of the ticket. No callback. The vibration is getting worse. It's starting to vibrate when the car is idling and it no longer needs to be at highway speeds to notice it. On 5/6 I texted him asking what the status of the ticket was and requested he call me. On 5/7 he texts back that he's requesting additional information from GM and will update me with more info as they give it. I reply thanking him for the update and ask how long does this process usually take...no response. Thurs 5/8 I text him again asking him to call me...no response. On 6/19 I have a 12 hour drive to Sutton's Bay MI coming up. I'm very concerned if these issues aren't resolved before my trip across the very desolate UP of Michigan with spotty cell phone service.

I had an oil change and tire rotation done at Kolar. They checked my air filter and cabin filter and recommended replacing them. They noticed my tires are starting to wear and printed out several options for replacement for me. Friendly staff- not pushy at all. One of the salesmen, Brendan Baker, even waved and said hello as I was waiting for my car.

I had no intention of purchasing/leasing a vehicle when I stopped by. However, Nick provided so much information around leasing a vehicle. I had never considered leasing a vehicle, but I also was not in the financial spot to purchase the vehicle I wanted long term. Nick helped me find a vehicle similar to one I hope to purchase one day through a lease option. I have had so many horrible experiences at dealerships and always felt so pressured. At Kolar I didn’t feel pressured or dismissed. I was allowed to ask all the questions until I felt comfortable. I even had a small panic attack/breakdown before officially signing all paperwork. Aly talked me through my financial situation and really help me feel comfortable in my decision. Aly and Aaron both provided me with contacts for insurance brokers and I was able to get a lower rate, which makes me feel so much better. All together everything was amazing, as a young adult I feel confident that I will continue to work with Nick and the Kolar team! I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your dealership, both regarding the vehicle I leased and the overall sales process. As a loyal customer, I find the current situation deeply frustrating and concerning overall. When discussions began with Nick about leasing a new electric vehicle, I was provided with several assurances that, in hindsight, were misleading and not accurate. I would like to outline some issues that have led me to feel I was misinformed and pushed into a decision under false pretenses: 1. Misleading Information About Vehicle Trade-In Value I was told that the Kelly Blue Book value of my previous leased vehicle was between $20-21k, and that securing a loan for it would be difficult due to the $24k buyout price, despite having a down payment to cover the difference. However, weeks after I returned the car, I saw it listed for nearly $28k. This disparity raises serious concerns about the accuracy and transparency of the information I was given during the trade-in discussions. 2. Lack of Essential Equipment and Hidden Costs I was assured that the new electric vehicle would come with a basic home charger, which turned out to be incorrect—a fact I was not informed of until after signing the lease. This is an important aspect of being a new owner of an electric vehicle, and I feel this was either overlooked or intentionally downplayed during the sales process. Nick did mention that a charger was included with the 2024 model, but was not included in the 2025 after the fact. Had I known this would be the case, I would not have traded in my previous vehicle until I had one in hand. There was not even a charger available for purchase at the dealership, and when one was eventually ordered I no longer needed it since I got one elsewhere and did not pick it up. I stated I no longer needed the charger, and was then told, "I don’t think we’re gonna eat that [cost]." by Nick. 3. Winter Battery Performance Perhaps most troubling is the performance of the electric vehicle’s battery in colder weather. I was specifically informed that the vehicle’s range loss in winter would be minimal and that preheating the battery would help prevent significant decreases in range. We were also told that if we chose not to precondition, it would not cause a major issue, with one Kolar employee reporting only a 12-mile loss. However, since the weather has turned cold, I have experienced a dramatic reduction in the vehicle’s range. For example, after driving just about 45 miles, I’ve seen a range loss of 93-115 miles. This is far beyond the 40% range loss I was told to expect when I inquired about getting out of the lease, something that was never disclosed before I signed the lease. Even with the preheating function, the vehicle’s performance does not meet my daily needs as I was assured it would, and I feel misled about how the battery would function in colder temperatures after specific inquiries and discussions. Given the clear discrepancies between what I was told and what I am experiencing, I am deeply dissatisfied with both the vehicle and the overall sales process.

I called for an appointment on June 9 for a transmission leak so they gave us a date of July 1 to bring it in. July 3 they called for us to pick it up and it was supposed to be all fixed when we got there. They noticed that check engine light was on. They pulled it back into the garage for a diagnostic check up and reset the check engine light. We went to drive it that evening and the check engine light came on again. We went to take it to the service center. On 7/5 and the car made a loud noise and quit running. we had it towed to Kolar’s lot and the people that we left the keys with said they would leave a message to Alyssa that our car should be a priority. because we just had it in for the transmission and the check engine light came on after that. On Monday, July 7, I made two phone calls to Kolar Buick and left messages to call me back. There was no callbacks so we personally went in on Tuesday around 10 AM that morning to find out what was going on with our car. The answer we got was they haven’t looked at it yet. And now it’s July 11 and we have no car and no answers and the rental car that we’re supposed to get they don’t have one so that’s our experience. The whole thing is we purchased this car from Kolar April 8, 2025 and don’t think we should have been put through all of this. Thank you Jeff Kachinske. 07/11/2025 @ 11:11 am

I am unhappy with the service I received. I went out of my way to locate a part I needed for my vehicle and purchased it on my own since it was on back order and I could not get an ETA from Kolar. I missed a day of work and drove 6 hours to get the part to Kolar to do the repair. Instead of giving me the part that was ordered for my vehicle when it came In weeks later, Kolar said they would give me a check for the cost of the part only ($170). Mind you this part is $1500-2,000 if you try to buy it like I did. If they weren’t going to give me the part, like I had asked for, they could have cancelled the order and completed the repair paperwork on their end instead of having GM call me 2-3x/week thinking I never got the work done.

Unfortunately, our recent service experience at Kolar was quite disappointing. It took nearly six weeks to have our vehicle repaired due to a transmission replacement. While we understand that certain repairs take time, the real issue was the severe lack of communication from the service department. Our assigned service representative never once called us with an update. We had to initiate all communication ourselves, often calling multiple times without a return call. When asked why we weren’t being updated, he couldn’t offer a clear explanation—only an apology. We were repeatedly told it would be “a couple more days” or “by the end of the week,” but no one ever followed up to confirm status or delays. We were also told that the dealership only had one transmission technician who was backed up or on vacation—frankly, not an acceptable excuse from a dealership of this size. When our car was finally ready, the customer service issues continued. Upon arrival, the young woman at the desk informed us that our car was “out back somewhere,” and we were essentially told to find it ourselves. After we couldn’t locate it, we returned for help. Instead of offering assistance, she asked if we had tried pressing our fob—making us feel like we were being difficult or incompetent. She eventually had to get the service manager to locate the vehicle, which was parked on the far end of the lot. In previous visits, our car was always brought to us—this lack of courtesy was a surprising change. Lastly, after such a major repair, we were given no real information about the work done. I had to ask about warranty coverage, and the response was dismissive: “3 years, 100,000 miles.” There was no explanation, no paperwork beyond a receipt, and the staff seemed more interested in their phones than answering questions. This experience has left a very bad impression. It’s unfortunate because our initial sales experience was excellent, and we had hoped to continue servicing our GMC vehicle at Kolar. However, after this visit, we’ve decided to take our future service needs elsewhere.

We bought our 2019 traverse last summer. Works great. Agent is awesome. Easy process and great to work with. Would like to keep it working great Came back this summer and Got the oil changed and asked to have tires rotated and a tranny flush. Recommended no tire change because they are getting worn out. Appreciate that. No tranny flush. Why? “You didn’t keep up with the scheduled maintenance”. That’s what I’m upset over. When we purchased the car I asked about getting it changed. “it doesn’t need it” was what we were told by you. Ohh. But now I’m told by the service tech “we don’t want to do it”. “ we don’t know the history”. One of the main reasons we bought it was the beautiful condition it’s in and the previous owner would bring it to the dealership for maintenance vs no history. We could see they were very “on it” keeping up with everything and using the service from you. We even had it printed out and kept in the glovebox which I’ll get to in a min. So I’m like ok sir. So we were never told “ oh by the way. If you ever want to stay on keeping everything running excellent we will not service your tranny”… or as I was told “ well if it’s not broken don’t fix it”. I’m like so when do I service it? When it breaks? No. No good answers. Isn’t that a shady deal? My neighbor told me about you and I loved the process but then when it comes down to a simple “ we won’t do it” that makes me nervous and not feel from you very trustworthy. I called and my wife called to talk to service the next day back in July. I can’t remember the woman’s name we were transferred to. Left a message and she never returned our call. When I asked her before we picked it up about not knowing when the fluid was changed my wife told her to check the glovebox where the paperwork was. Of course it wasn’t put back in there. I was hoping to get a hold of someone that night Incase it would end up in the trash. But we never got a call back. Other thank that I felt we had a good experience and would like to try again. But it makes me upset that I never got a real answer about what to do. Works fine. No problems but I guess I wait until it breaks? That’s horrible advice coming from a “mechanic” in my opinion. I’d love to hear back from someone about this. Hope that helps. I would imagine this happening to other people would be terrible. Wade and Mariah

2021 vehicle under warranty and was told no part in the US with no expectation of timing. Kolar received the part after about 4 months and called me with installation appointment availability 5-6 weeks later. All of this was barely acceptable as a GMC problem and I thought there could have been more effort at communication. I also expressed an interest in my brakes being done 3 different times with the last person being the one who confirmed my appointment. Then when I brought it in the wish still hadn't made it to a work order. Corey added it and the brakes got done but I will say I don't love restating the same thing over and over.

The oil change went fine rotate my tire is fine. A problem. I have a mudflap on the driver‘s passenger side a screws been loose there. The service manager looks at it. We’ll see if the warranty will cover it. I don’t. I just have 10,000 miles in my truck something was wrong with it was installed and they’re telling me they’ll see if if they’ll cover it they need to cover it like yesterday

Two years ago we started the process to replace the seat covers on my rear seat and my 2023 traverse. It took a year to get the seat covers in. Then when we brought it in to get it finally fixed, they tore into the front seat which they were not supposed to And now we’ve been dealing with that for the past year. I live in Silver Bay. I’ve made my third trip to get this handled and yesterday once again they started to fix it and realized they needed a clip that was broken probably from the last time they tried to fix it. So once again, I’m going out for my fourth trip and I still don’t have my vehicle fixed

Brought my concerns up with the service manager and he said they would take care of the issues however when I picked up the vehicle none of them were corrected. I had the car's oil change yesterday and was so pleasantly greeted when I drove in, instructions were so clear and was pointed to the waiting area that had freshly popped popcorn and an assortment of delicious coffees. The seating area is comfortable and pleasant and so clean! The oil change was very quick and all the other things checked, my car had a physical essentially. I like Kolar and I love my Buick and wouldn't go anywhere else for services!

The team members were very kind and friendly, no complaints there. However, initially it took 6 weeks to get an appointment from the time I called until they had an opening. During that time my vehicle tripped over the 36K mile warranty. Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty. I had indicated at the time I made the appointment the message the car was indicating yet when I did bring the car in they didn’t have the replacement part which required yet another appointment, then the morning I brought my car to the second appointment I was told the technician had possibly called out that day and they would let me know. 3 hours later the service coordinator called me to indicate the tech was indeed out for that day and the next. Finally on the 3rd visit they did fix my car. Kolar did a good job with the repairs and people were great, but please note I live 30 minutes one way from the dealership and to make so many trips did become frustrating as well as the length of time to get the initial appointment.

Everything went flawlessly, from ordering my new truck, to driving away with it. Everyone is knowledgeable about their part. And everyone is very friendly. All calls and questions were taken care of immediately. The only place I can see needs improvement is in the shop and detail area. When I picked up my new truck, it still had colored tire chalk on the tires, buffing compound in crevices around the wheel wells, glue in the step area of door opening, and was not wiped down very good, My salesman Ben, personally, re did it himself. (AWESOME) The next week, I had a box cover and rails installed. When I went back to get it, the stainless rails, the top of box area, and my door handles were covered in oily finger prints. The shop manager fixed the problem immediately. Again, Details, Details, Details!

Bought a new GMC Sierra in August and so far Kolar is batting around 0.00. Strike one was the sub-par ceramic package I purchased when I bought the truck. Had to be re-done but was honestly still sub-par at best. Strike two was I had to come in to have a new key fob programmed. Was done incorrectly so I had to make another trip in so they could do it right. Strike 3 I came for my first service. Tires were rotated but air in tires was just left as is and was not checked and adjusted per manufacturer tire pressure for front and back tires. This would not normally be a big deal but when you add in the rest of the service snafus I have had it adds up to Kolar is not very impressive.

Vehicle in for oil change and they wouldn't even hook up the scanner to see why my check engine light was on. Told me first appointment to diagnose was 6 weeks out. Went to a competitor GMC dealership, they diagnosed it that day, ordered the part and fixed in 2 days.
